Event Description:
Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation and the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry are co-hosting a 5th Congressional District Candidate Forum on Thursday, July 7th in Williamson County, in the heart of the redrawn district. The forum will feature both Democrat and Republican candidates running for the open seat which includes Davidson, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Williamson, and Wilson Counties. Candidates will be allowed to introduce themselves and make brief comments and then will be asked by each association to discuss several important federal policy topics impacting agriculture, commerce, business, and manufacturing. The last time the 5th Congressional District was an open seat was in 2002; this seat is a prominent district for economic activity and intersects major business and agricultural operations.
